Hulled Millet

Start your day by making a heart‐healthy choice – with a bowl of cooked millet topped with your favorite fresh fruit. Cooked millet has the consistency of rice. If you like it just a bit creamier simply add more water and stir frequently.


Stuff to know:

  • You can add hulled millet into your favorite bread and muffin recipe.

  • Good addition to your diet for its fiber and protein content.

  • Good source of copper, phosphorus, manganese and magnesium.

Directions for use:

  • Soaking millet in boiling water for 10 minutes will help reduce cooking time.

  • Put 1 cup of millet in a saucepan with 3-4 cups of water or stock, and bring it to a boil.

  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes for fluffy millet.

  • For creamy millet, leave the lid off and stir often, adding additional water as desired.
