Tri-Colored Quinoa:

We eat with our eyes first, so feast on quinoa’s spectrum of color. Our organic tri-colored quinoa is a blend of our three favorite quinoa grains: golden, red, and black. Diet approved, you’ll find the bold, beautiful colors of this superfood as satisfying to your senses as it is to your waistline.

Stuff to know:

  • Quinoa isn't technically a grain - it's a relative of the spinach family!
  • A complete protein containing all 9 essential amino acids.
  • A natural antioxidant which is believed to prevent certain cancers and have anti-aging properties.
  • Easy to cook, quinoa fluffs up and expands just like rice, millet or couscous.

Directions for use:

  • Place quinoa in a fine mesh colander.
  • Thoroughly rinse under cold running water to remove naturally occurring "saponins" which can leave a bitter taste.
  • In saucepan, add one part quinoa to two parts liquid (water or stock).
  • Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for approx. 12 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and allow to sit for 4 to 7 minutes to achieve desired texture.

Country of origin:

We source our organic products from various locations depending on harvest schedules, weather and availability. This means the country of origin will be lot specific.

You can determine where in the world our current inventory originates from by referring to the 2 letter ISO Country Code appearing on the COA. For instance: Canada = CA, Mexico = MX, China = CN, and of course, US = United States of America.
